Description

Geberit Sigma50 Round Dual Flush Plate - Black Walnut & Chrome - 115.884.JX.1

Geberit Sigma50 Round Dual Flush Plate in Black Walnut

A round dual flush plate from the Geberit Sigma50 range with a real black walnut cover plate and brushed chrome buttons. Frameless, and the only Sigma50 we stock with circular buttons.

This is the round-button plate in the range, measuring 246 x 164 x 14mm. The cover plate is genuine black walnut, so the grain differs from piece to piece, and the two buttons are polished die-cast zinc in a brushed chrome finish with an easy-to-clean coating. Geberit list this plate as Sigma50, formerly Sigma21, which is why older price lists and merchant listings still call it a Sigma21.

Choosing between the round and the square Sigma50

The mechanics are identical across the range, so the decision is button shape and cover material.

1

Round buttons or square buttons

Both plates are the same 246 x 164mm footprint. Only the button geometry changes.

  • Round buttons soften a square, tiled room
  • Square buttons suit a sharper, more graphic scheme
  • Both are dual flush and front actuated
2

Wood or glass cover plate

The black walnut cover is a natural product, so grain and tone vary between plates and no two are identical. If you want a completely uniform surface, the Lava glass plate is the consistent option.

The three Sigma50 plates we stock

Round 115.884.JX.1 Black walnut cover · round buttons · 246 x 164 x 14mm · (this product)

Square 115.788.JX.2 Black walnut cover · square buttons · 246 x 164 x 15mm · view the square plate

Lava glass 241.788.JK.2 Glass cover in Lava · 246 x 164mm · view the lava glass plate

All three are Geberit Sigma50 dual flush plates for front actuation, so they take the same Sigma concealed cisterns. The choice is the cover material and the button shape.

Black walnut is a natural material. Grain pattern and colour depth vary from plate to plate, which is part of the appeal but does mean the plate you receive will not match a photograph exactly. If you are matching two plates in one property, order them together so they come from the same batch.

Geberit Sigma50 round dual flush plate in black walnut 115.884.JX.1

A real black walnut cover plate

The cover is genuine walnut rather than a printed finish, so the grain runs differently on every plate. Against the brushed chrome buttons it gives a warmth that a chrome or white plastic plate cannot, which is why it tends to end up in rooms with timber vanities or stone tiling.

Round buttons in polished die-cast zinc

The two circular buttons are polished die-cast zinc with a slightly curved contour, finished in brushed chrome and easy-to-clean coated. They have a weight to them that plastic plates do not, and the curve means your fingertip finds the centre without looking.

Frameless, and only 14mm deep

At 246 x 164mm and 14mm deep the plate sits close to the tile face with no visible frame around the edge, so it reads as a panel set into the wall rather than a fitting screwed onto it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cover plate real wood?
Yes. Geberit list the material as wood and describe it as a natural product, so the grain and the depth of colour vary between plates. That variation is the point of specifying walnut rather than a printed or foil finish, but it does mean your plate will not be an exact match for a catalogue photograph.
What is the difference between this and the square Sigma50?
Button shape, and 1mm of depth. This round plate is 14mm deep with circular buttons. The square Sigma50 in the same black walnut is 15mm deep with rectangular buttons. Same footprint, same cistern compatibility, same walnut cover.
Which cistern does a Geberit Sigma50 plate fit?
It is made for Geberit Sigma concealed cisterns using front actuation, which covers the Sigma 8cm and 12cm cisterns found in most Geberit Duofix and Kombifix frames. It will not fit a Geberit Omega cistern, which actuates from the top, and it will not fit another manufacturer's frame. Check what is behind the wall before ordering.
What is the difference between Sigma50 and Sigma21?
They are the same plate. Geberit renamed the Sigma21 range as Sigma50, so you will still see older listings and price lists using the Sigma21 name for these article numbers. If a plumber or a spec document refers to a Sigma21 plate, a Sigma50 with the same article number is the current equivalent.
How do the buttons feel to use?
The buttons are highly polished die-cast zinc with a slightly curved contour, so they have real weight behind them rather than the light click of a plastic plate. Both are easy-to-clean coated, which means fingerprints and water spotting wipe away with a damp cloth.
Can I mount it flush with the tiles?
The Sigma50 is designed to sit close to the wall with a frameless edge, so it reads as a panel rather than a raised fitting. Exact projection depends on how the cistern is set back during first fix, so agree the finished tile depth with your installer before the wall is closed up.
Is this a mechanical or an electronic plate?
Mechanical. It is a dual flush plate with two physical buttons acting on the cistern valve, so there is no battery, sensor or mains supply and nothing to fail in a power cut. If you want a touchless plate you need a different Geberit range.
How do I clean it without damaging the finish?
A soft damp cloth, then dry it off. Avoid abrasive creams, bleach, descalers and anything containing solvent, because these attack the easy-to-clean coating and cannot be undone once the surface is dulled. On the wood cover plates this matters even more than on glass.
What else do I need for a complete installation?
The Geberit frame and Sigma cistern if you are starting from scratch, plus a compatible wall hung pan such as the RAK Moon rimless wall hung WC pan. Send us the cistern model and we will confirm the plate is the right match before you order.
What if I need something tougher for a public washroom?
These are design-led plates for homes and hospitality rather than heavy-duty commercial washrooms. For a school or a high-traffic public toilet the Armitage Shanks Septa Pro M1 is anti-vandal rated and built for abuse. For a plain domestic plate at lower cost, the Ideal Standard Oleas M3 is worth a look.
What are the delivery and returns options?
We offer fast reliable UK-wide delivery with quicker express options if you need it sooner. Exact costs and timing are confirmed at checkout based on your location and the service you choose. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of receipt for a refund, with return postage payable by the customer on unwanted or incorrectly ordered items.
