Use separate components for a genuinely bespoke combination, such as an LED dimmer beside a 2-way or intermediate switch. For a component build, specify the Evolve finish and front plate together with the exact frame, mechanism and rocker codes, circuit function, aperture count and back-box depth.

Yes, where compatible Nexus Grid components and the selected Evolve plate provide the required apertures, one custom plate can combine a trailing-edge dimmer with 2-way, intermediate or other switching functions. Treat each aperture as a separately specified control and confirm the existing wiring at every position. Dimming is normally provided at the supported dimmer position rather than by fitting two ordinary dimmers on one circuit. A qualified electrician should confirm the circuit design and install the assembly.

No universal claim is safe. BG uses Nexus Grid mechanisms across several visible ranges, so some parts are shared, but Evolve’s plate, mounting frame, rockers, apertures and finishes still have exact compatibility requirements. Select the Evolve plate and finish first, then use the frame, mechanism and rocker codes listed for that assembly. If a code match is not explicit in current BG product data, confirm it with Kent Traders or BG rather than relying on the range name.

Confirm that every lamp is dimmable and that the dimmer technology and stated minimum-to-maximum LED load cover the total connected wattage. Also check the number of independent circuits, the required plate apertures and the product’s back-box instruction. Custom multi-module combinations need enough depth and cable space for safe termination; a deeper 35mm or 47mm box may be appropriate, but use the exact assembly specification and wall type rather than a blanket depth rule.

Record room, Evolve finish, plate and frame codes, aperture count, every mechanism and rocker code, circuit function, lamp type and load, back-box depth and quantity. Approve one physical sample before ordering a large schedule so the screwless finish, rocker labelling and mechanical fit are confirmed.
