Ideal Standard Idealfill Bath Filler, Overflow and Clicker Waste in Silk Black

A bath filler, overflow and clicker waste in one Silk Black set. The bath fills through the overflow rather than a spout, so you can fit a bath with no tap holes at all.

The Idealfill combines three jobs in a single fitting: it fills the bath, it acts as the overflow and it gives you a pop-up clicker waste you open and close with a push. The plate measures 70mm, the finish is a satin Silk Black, an 800mm flexible waste hose is supplied and the set is WRAS approved for working pressures from 0.5 bar to 4 bar.

Check your working pressure

The Idealfill is rated from 0.5 bar to 4 bar. Below that range the bath will be slow to fill. Above it you would want a pressure reducing valve. Maximum water temperature is 85 degrees Celsius.

This is a filler and waste set, not a tap. It needs hot and cold supplies run to a valve below the bath and it does not include a mixer or a diverter for a shower. If you want a shower over the bath you will need a separate valve.

The bath fills through the overflow, so no tap is needed on the rim

Water enters the bath through the overflow plate rather than a spout. That frees you to fit a bath with no tap holes at all, or to keep a freestanding bath completely clean down its length. The waste, the overflow and the filler are one coordinated set in Silk Black.

Clicker waste that opens and closes with a push

This is a pop-up click-clack waste. Press the 70mm plate once to seal the bath and press again to release it, so there is no plug or chain to sit in the water. The plate is the only part you touch and it stays flush with the bath floor.

A satin Silk Black finish across the whole set

How does a bath filler that works through the overflow actually fill the bath?
The hot and cold supplies run to a valve below the bath and the water is delivered up into the overflow housing, then out through the overflow plate into the bath. From above you see only the round plate on the bath wall. Nothing sits on the rim, which is the whole point of this arrangement.
Do I need a bath with tap holes to use this?
No, and that is the main reason people choose it. Because the filling happens through the overflow you can specify a bath with no tap holes drilled. It also suits a freestanding bath where a rim tap would spoil the line, or a fitted bath where the wall behind is tiled and you would rather not break into it.
What is a clicker waste and how is it different from a plug?
A clicker waste is a pop-up mechanism, sometimes called click-clack. You press the plate down once and it seals the bath, then press it again and it lifts to let the water out. There is no rubber plug and no chain, so nothing is left floating in the bath or hanging over the side.
What water pressure does the Idealfill need?
It is rated for working pressures from 0.5 bar up to 4 bar, so it suits most gravity-fed and mains-fed systems. Below 0.5 bar the fill rate will disappoint and above 4 bar you would want a pressure reducing valve fitted. The maximum water temperature is 85 degrees Celsius.
Will it fit my bath?
It is designed for Idealform, Idealform Plus and Ideal Standard steel baths, and it needs a standard 70mm waste aperture with an overflow position that matches. On a bath from another manufacturer the fit depends on the overflow housing, so measure before ordering or send us the bath model and we will check.
Is the water safe to drink from a bath fitted with this?
The set is WRAS approved, which means the materials in contact with the water meet the UK water regulations for use on a drinking water supply. Bath water is not intended for drinking, but the approval is what confirms the fitting is compliant to install on your mains.
How long is the waste hose and does that matter?
An 800mm flexible waste hose is supplied. It matters because it sets how far the trap can sit from the waste outlet. On a wide bath, or where the trap has to move sideways to clear a joist, that 800mm is what gives the installer room to work.
How should the Silk Black finish be cleaned?
Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Avoid abrasive creams, bleach and limescale removers because a satin finish will not polish back if it is dulled. Drying after each clean is what keeps a black finish looking even in a hard water area.
Can I match this to other black fittings?
Yes, and it is worth planning.
